Anxiety Thesis
Peterson Hall/ Rice Gallery at McDaniel College
Presented April 2016
A visualization of inner turmoil, strife, and anxiety, Anxiety Thesis seeks to visualize the invisible. Rooted in the silence and missing conversations around anxiety, each piece represents a different experience of anxiety, bringing light to inner realities and seeking to break that silence. The chaotic use of multiple media in each piece seeks to put abstract pieces together to create a cohesive image. The body of work is influenced by the abstract expressionist movement, which emphasizes the art of process and surrealism, which gives the creator's brain the freedom to visualize itself via hyper-drawing and psychic automatism.
